Grace Paley's Humorous Writings

Mel Foydenberger is the author of a novel called The Dissident which is coming out in paperback this month. She says she was intimidated by Grace Paley's stories because they were so different from her own experiences. But when she became a fiction writer it was the home ear that she was listening to as much as the literary ear, and I think that's where all of her jokes come from.
