The Science of Ethology and the Science of Human Behavior

Before sociobiology, there were also scientists interested in excavating that inner human nature. Conrad Lorenz was one of the co-founders of the science of ethology and really a pioneer in making that science accessible to the public. He wrote popular books in the 1950s that were widely read and really beloved. And he was followed by the Broadway playwright and Hollywood scriptwriter Robert Argery, who also was interested in bringing the sciences of ethology into the public realm.
