None of the incentives are really set up to promote that kind of work. And I think if you're a doctor, whether you're making big investments in machine learning or not isn't going to affect your likelihood of getting NIH grant. He says it highlights one of the huge advantages of doing this work today when we have longitudinal data from electronic health records linkable to many other places.
