If someone aspires to be an elder, he desires an honorable position. An elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must exercise self control, live wisely and have a good reputation. If you can't take care of your own house, how are you taking care of God's church? I'm talking about a pattern of behavior that is so flagrant that you could not read that verse.
