The Impact of Chat GPT on Higher Education
OpenAI's chat GPT turned heads in education when it burst onto the scene in November 2022. Some worried about the potential for plagiarism, with students dishonestly passing off computer-generated work as their own creative product. Chat GPT is what's known as a large language model and has been trained on huge amount of text data. It does this in a probabilistic way by essentially predicting what the next word should be in a sequence.
