i don't think there's an easy solution to this one presently. Or publications and citations to those publications is the ultimate bench mark the which academics are judged. Am unfortunately, stuff that gets published tends to be shiny, new, exciting,. And therefore creates this massive incentive in it these unhelpful incidents. But i think amongst certain kinds of researchers, and they're increasingly common, the negative repplication is valued. It might not be valued in the citation metrics, but i think there’s an increasing awareness and there's increasing moves from funding bodies to require things like openso science protocols be applied for san stuff.
