Bullying and Suicide Rates Among Trans People

Alicia Aliciga: Most of the effect you see that people who are bullied have elevated suicide rates is mostly due to a whole suite of confounding factors. She says studies on transpeople don't take into account those sorts of variables, but even not doing that they're just not anywhere big enough. "It seems really bizarre to me when people say no, it's not bullying and lack of support that's causing l g b t people to have such high suicide rates," she adds.
