The Economics of Social Spending

SAI wrote on classical liberalism. The strongest and fastest growing economies in the world allocate anywhere from 20 to 30% of their GDP to social expenditures. When social spending made through employers instead of government, such as healthcare, retirement, and disability is factored in the equation, the USA rises from 24th place to 2nd in overall social expenditures. Nevertheless, we still boost, boast, the largest economy in the world.
