The bourgeois family reached its pinnacle consolidation in 19th century europe that it was eratically different from old feudal families and aristocratic families. As people's class positions improved one of the things they began to do is to remake their family in a way that resembled bourgeois conventions. The kind of idea of a housewife right is extremely inachronistic at this point and is completely unavailable to working class people across the board.
