There are no candidate theories of everything that plausibly give us an idea of how a canvas would will ah an entire universe into being. John archibald wheeler's famous lit the graf drawing hands is a picture, in some sense, of the universe contemplating itself. Einstein asked whether the creator had any choice in how the universe was constructed.
