I was thinking the other day about the idea that nowadays we will have our own home and we have our own bedroom. We have sort of very much our own personal private space. That just wasn't the case in medieval, you know, in earlier periods people would maybe just have a little sort of palette beside the fire in the kitchen. Or it was just a very different way of living. And a different way of thinking about privacy and about what it means to be a person. Because we are very used to being able to be alone.
