Do You Think the Dial Has Moved?
I don't think the dial has moved. I would say that I now have the skills to be both a journalist and to do sort of content churn. But if you're just every day having to rewrite stories from the internet, and post them at a rapid pace with no time for editing, etc., then you're not going to learn any of the skills necessary to really strike out on your own. Your options are much more limited. And then you're wedded to this job because you need the meager pay it's providing. So I think it's still a massive trap for young journalists.
