The Tower of Babel and Its Builders

We might again think of the babel themes that are playing out in this book. The image is described historically moving down the head towards the feet. Perhaps we are supposed to see this as a sort of descent from heaven to earth. Gold is the most precious metal, silver next, bronze next, and then iron after that. That iron is then admixed with clay at the very bottom. As movement from precious metals down. James jordan suggests that this statue might be a humaniform temple. May seem like a decrease in glory, but it's an increase in might.
