How to Implement a Similar Type of Project
I would suggest doing an incremental approach. Figure out how to straddle both the TypeScript and JavaScript worlds, then do it piece by piece. There are better tools now as well. Some tools that can read JS.com and turn them into types. So if you were in a position where you can leverage those tools, like try them out. They weren't around when we started.
