Pints With Aquinas
What Is the Meaning of Liesing?
Gavin: Deception does not equal lying. We also don't determine whether or not something is intrinsically evil by finding a situation where our intuitions are to do that act, fair enough. And then he says, I'm just wondering what is leading craved to go against Augustine, Aquinas, etc., who don't think you should lie even to save a life. So I still think it's a matter of what language you use to translate the principle that lying is indeed intrinsically by its nature wrong because truth is a good and people ought to be willed good things rather than bad things.
