"We lived in the poor zipcode in america, in brownsville, texas. We're likin grad housing, like a tiny, 400 square foot studio apartment," he says. His wife had come across a website that was selling jewellery using scrabble tiles and oregomi paper. "She closed the book on the idea and just totally dismissed it." But they decided to go into the market that represented their longest-lasting hobby: gardening. They built a business teaching people how to care for orchids with an online course. The company went from making 25 thousand dollars a month in little over a year - to 500 million dollar companies every six months.
