How to Detect if an Exoplanet Has a Magnetic Field
Arasibo was equipped with a radar instrument on board, the likes of which does not exist anywhere else on planet Earth. It can fire out this radar pulse at a nearby asteroid as it's passing and then receive the signal and be able to analyze it. And Arasibo was used to map dozens of asteroids in 3D. The administration officials decided that they were not going to rebuild the telescope. But there have been proposals to either rebuild them or make other versions of Arasibo scale telescopes in other places.
