What's Going on With the Rice Genomics Project?
The ric genums project aims to get really good reference genoms for many of the major varieties of rice, as well as the wild species. The other tat is happening right now is a desire to do some level of sequence to all the known rice varieties. There's this large scale effort to try to exploit the amount of variation that's locked into the seed banks by the international community. And also there's been a lot of use of drones, of unmenthe aerial vehicles for penotyping.
