What's the Basic Numbers in Cell Biology?

I'd love to see like the history by the numbers. Like what are the actual ranges of population densities that you can sustain or what are the factors that determine like population density in different parts of the world? I think it's just like would be super interesting. For instance, it is very hard to transport things long distance before we have steam power and things like this. What does this actually tell us about history? There's not so much having like a one true number that predicts everything in history,. But like giving us some quantitative tools so that we can understand history 20% better  or maybe 20% is too high, but maybe like 5% better.
