i think we are, in part, living through this dynamic that was, i think, very accurately predicted by the british writer michael young. It's hard to see figures who embody or seeme capable of embodying a populous alternative while also channelling it back towards effective government threatend. So where is non corrupt, highly competent, civic minded populis leader in the western world? But i agree with you on without veering into the kind of what i would at least describe as anti experts and chaotic politics that the populace want to put in its place.
