The Null Hypothesis

Don't confuse a p-value for the probability that this is a real phenomenon. It's not actually a very good way. And people interpret it incorrectly. You're far better looking at several different ways of looking at the statistics. If you're not even statistically significant, you're not in the ball game. There's definitely nothing going on here.
