The Navy currently has 294 battle for ships far short of the 355 it is required to have by law. The ability to project power and the US Navy's ability to protect the sea lanes is a fundamental component of what makes our lives the way they are today. Greg, we would normally expect Hugh Hewitt to burst through the wall like the Kool-Aid man and scream about how we need a 500 ship Navy. And he's been arguing about this for several presidential cycles now. It has not happened.
