Doctoral Training - What Is the Difference Between a PhD and an MD?
The most significant part of getting a PhD is carrying out primary research. The other majority the rest of these PhDs go into industry and really this is where the similarities are with the far D's they go into medical affairs as medical science liaisons or medical information specialists. A lot of clinicians especially medical doctors worked on a few studies and they have interest in it but a lot of these individuals are not interested in R&D.
