What Is Histamine?

Heidi Turner: Histamine is produced as a result of an allergen entering our body and triggering a mast cell that then triggers a histamine release. So it's involved in an inflammatory immune response. It also regulates about 10 different systems in our bodies. We use it to help us build stomach acid and help us digest food, we use it to increase mucus within our respiratory tract.
