There's a thing called parts tolerances. If you buy two different guitar pedals, and they look identical, but you set the knobs to be the same on both of them, they're probably going to sound a little bit different. It might just be like, well, you just don't have them calebrated, right? Or another physical phenomenon, apparently, humans tend to perceive things that sound louder as sounding better up to a point. You can just roll back ti like anything, at any point in time. Like, there's a whole process for combining things together that were worked on by desperate people and desperate machines.
