Design as a Counterweight to the Dominant Culture That Favors Speed Over Thought
There's definitely a pervasive business culture globally at least in New Zealand that favors speed over thought. I was curious about your perspective here as to whether or not there is a role for design to be somewhat of a counterweight to the dominant culture which does favor just you know getting the light bulb and screwing it on. And actually if there was any benefit that you see in a commercial context from design intentionally slowing things down to encourage a more considered approach to decision making. You've put this down to previously that it's our inability to really grasp the concept of opportunity cost.
