Acceptance as a Practice

acceptance is the acknowledgment of things as they actually are. In buddhism, it's talked about as being something that you can actually practise. And to see the difference between acceptance and mindfulness as practices, i want to share a little bit of information from a paper written by james herbert and lynn bransma. They wrote a paper called understanding and enhancing psychological acceptance. It defines psychological acceptance as active embracing of subjective experience. And then they add particularly distressing experiences. Have you ever encountered a distressing experience? I'm sure we all have.
