Altruism Is an Incredibly Important Part of Happiness
I agree with the Iran that purpose is an important element of happiness. But I also agree that we have an individual choice about happiness. Happiness comes from the choices we make, but it's largely a communal quality. Altruism is one of the highest human attributes. You can judge how developed a society is in terms of how altruistic it is. Weimar Republic led directly to what happened in the 1930s in Germany.
