Why Did the Conservative Party Choose Liz Truss?
Tories have shifted to a sort of rank-and-file vote. And it was actually Liz Truss who won that first internal vote and became the Prime Minister in September. She was offering big tax cuts, and she began to take a lead over Rishi Sunak in the polls. But ultimately, RishiSunak was unable to convince the members of the Conservative Party - and Truss won comfortably.
