Emergency Medicine - Is High Flow a Good Intervention?

High flow is still relatively new and so far the evidence would suggest that we are overusing it. Bottom line is high flow should be reserved for rescue therapy for patients that have failed standard treatment. That early high flow does not provide any benefit and is just really a waste of money compared to a rescue high flow. We are in fact now in the stage of de-implementing high flow. But high flow I think is a perfect example of something we should be using less of.
