The Meaning of Maravich in the Frankish Language
The name Maravich meant son of the sea in the Frankish language. The later Franks developed a mythology about the founding of the Maravigian dynasty. If Claudio wasn't really Meravich's father, you can't name the family dynasty after him. So you had to name it after Meravich, since he was the oldest male ancestor.
