The Lures of a Manager's Contract

I'm not that worried about our tettest contract yet. If he decides he wants to go to Barcelona or Ramadrid or Man City, the contract we have with him probably isn't going to stop him. I would imagine the contract he signed last spring included some sort of bonus or uplift for Arsenal qualifying for the Champions League. So I think it's very possible that he's had a pay rise this summer effectively,. But yeah, if you've got a manager that other people are going to want, then you need to tie them down. It's borderline impossible to keep a manager who decides they want to go anyway.
