For basically all of human history until five minutes ago, traditional norms were committing that now it's become a counterculture. I wanted to keep the book focused on the future and what you can do as an individual now. But as I was looking into why this all happened, there's a lot of possible suspects and culprits out there. The most obvious one is its technology. It's kind of like a hundred year story of basically, if you used to live in one place, it was hard to get to some other place. And suddenly travel got a lot easier.
