The gender of crocodiles is determined and it's in the nest. Depending on how exposed a nest could be to the sun or hidden from the sun, this could also affect the temperature. So you could have nests that turn out to be totally female, totally male or a mix of the two. Most eggs are lost, however, due to things like flooding.
