The Idea of Extended Cognitive Capacity
The ability for me to store all my phone numbers on my smartphone is a way of basically extending my cognitive ability. Young chinese children who have been trained on an abacus since age of two can do computations so fluently by externalizing acting in their world through the active states though they can then internalize it and become wonderful um our mathematicians uh without the actual physical so it just rehearsed.
