Alchemy - What Is the Prima Material?

In alchemy, the prima material and chaos are used interchangeably. The prima material is what you start with when making a philosopher's stone. Chaos is more of a philosophic concept related to ideas about the creation of the universe. They use these words interchangeably but aren't really the same substance or concept.
