The Down to the Rural Movement in China
Urban intellectuals are then going to be collected in another part of the Cultural Revolution that is often overlooked, but it's called the down to the countryside movement. They collect these urban intellectuals and then like move them out to the sticks, to rural areas, and basically commit them to forced like labor. That's essentially what they were trying to do. Like you are now going to be one of the people. You are actually now part of the Chinese peasant proletariat.
