The Problem Is How to Get That Extra Meda Data Operation Every Time You Modify a File?

If xetiphas had a way to tell that this file was an image, which it doesn't really at the moment. It almost comes down to just having a directory called images and hard linking every image in its normal place. But like jim said, the problem that is how you get that extra meda data operation every time you write an image? If only one of those is when you're ever going to use then it was a waste of a lot of effort.
