The author is Bruce Sasserdout, of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He says we should look at this talk that there has been no wage growth in the bottom half of the income distribution since 1975. And then he writes about how if you do quantitative measures of household consumption, it appears to have gone up since 1975. So can it really be that there's been no increase in living standards since this time?
