In your book, you suggest that there should be an agent playing a role in discrimination. And so we can imagine thata sexeus individual who has a particular intention when they want to treat some one worse off on the grounds of their sex. You also talked about society doing that. So i suppose some of the claims are that society doesn't intend on treating people in a sexous way, it's just that they've innocuously set up structures that have some kind of deferential impact.
