The Power of Research in UX

UX writer is in a unique position because the input and output is happening with one person. In my experience, really good UXers spend 80% of their time trying to understand the problems they're solving. Whereas there's a culture in some UX teams where 90% of their efforts are spent writing reports. And I think reporting is going towards a very slow death. You should be spending all your time understanding the problem and then directly feeding into the solutions.
