Is the Rate at Which the Uncertainty Increases Expedentially?

The uncertainty about whether it was a good or bad thing, my decline ova time. It seems like the rate at which that kind of flipping thing happens should decrease the longer the effect has been positive to some extent. The probability that some exogenous event comes along and spoils the effect of my intervention does decline with time, but nevertheless decline slowly. Enough that this sort of discounting effect is still quite significant, and really cuts into the expected value of trying to influence the far future.
