The Power of Thunder Charms

Many houses have eight or ten of them suspended in the eaves and other places where evil influences are thought to reside. Raising thunder by means of charms is considered an important part of the daois system of magic. Such spells must contain, in written form, the representation of the characters thunder and lightning. The intention here may be to smite spirits which are causing trouble, or merely to raise thunder and storms to punish some one meriting it.
