Book is about how time plays into the anxiety of living in a 24/7 world. When we start dividing up time into hours and seconds and minutes, our way of thinking about time changes. Time is just the medium in which your life unfolds. You milk the cows when it's time to milk the cows. You harvest the crops when it’s time to harvest the crops. And i think even though being an early mediaeval english peasant was overwhelmingly a terrible life, they would not have been troubled by time problems in that way because you need that alienation from time in the first place.
