The idea that identity politics is something that comes from the left is actually very similar to the term culture, right? The basically ascribing identity only to people who are not white Christian men. This is a truly transnational, sort of reactionary phenomenon,. in Germany, for instance, the conservative party is now all in on using those, again, culture war terms from the American political discourse.
