Martin Bromley's Story Is a Harrowing Story of Human Error
Martin Bromley is an incredible campaigner whose drive to create a safer NHS was born out of tragedy. On the 29th of March 2005, his wife Elaine was admitted to hospital for a routine sinus operation but she never came home. While Elaine was under an aesthetic, her oxygen levels plummeted and the operating team made a series of critical mistakes as they tried to get them back up. These mistakes resulted in catastrophic brain damage and 13 days later Elaine's life support was switched off. It's a harrowing story of human error.
