Introduction

The family is the social sphere contributing most to the development of one's identity and psychological inner life. Psychoanalyst Lyman Wayne describes how extreme manifestations of this family structure can cause a schizophrenic disorder. The origins of schizophrenia are surely far too heterogeneous to be attributed to specific psychosocial causes nor is there anyone single culprit to search for in the family. pseudo mutuality as a system of communication is far more comprehensive and widespread than any correlation to schizophrenia would have one believe possibly something found in every family to some extent or another.
