The Christian Protestant Belief of the Jews Returning to the Holy Land

There was an already established and increasingly popular Christian belief, mostly centered in England, that the Jews were destined to be liberated from their exile. And there was also a movement to actually bring that about with the help of the British or perhaps some other government. The early and mid-1800s saw increasingly more Christian Zionist activity in the attempts to both liberate the Jews from their exile and re-establish them in Palestine as well as to convert them to Christianity. In 1809, the London Society for Promoting Christianity Amongst the Jews, which was also known as in short as the London Jews Society, was founded.
