The shadow of the plantation does not allow him as a producer, let alone some higher category into the factories and Dixie. A change in the number of Negro sharecroppers cannot change this fact of Negro life. Haywood insists that any gains brought about through the courts of harmonization have been met essentially with anti-black counter-revolution to ensure that legacy of slavery remains.
