The Killing of a Young Man by Berlioz
Berlioz, who has been playing with your expectations. He had to bring his original theme back but he also needed to portray that something about it was completely ifferent. The narrator is unmoored and so music loses its way as well. It's incredibly hard to pull off in a form as tightly constructed as a symphony.
